Abstract

Frequently in real life situations decision making takes place under fuzzy conditions, because the corresponding goals and/or the existing constraints are not clearly defined. Maji et al. introduced a method of parametric decision making using soft sets as tools. In reality, however, cases appear in which the decision maker has doubts about the correctness of the parameters assigned to some or all of the elements of the set of the discourse. In order to study more effectively the decision making process in such cases, we introduce neutrosophic sets here and we replace the binary elements in the tabular matrix of the method of Maji et al. by neutrosophic triplets. Our method is illustrated by suitable examples.
