Abstract

This paper presents a scheme of decision feedback differential detection (DF-DD) with postdetection diversity reception for differential phase shift keying (DPSK)/orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The DF-DD overcomes the degradation of bit error rate (BER) performance caused by conventional DD. The DF-DD with postdetection diversity reception can combat the inter-carrier interference (ICI) in OFDM systems and achieve better BER performance as compared to DF-DD without postdetection diversity reception. In this correspondence, we combined two techniques, DF-DD and postdetection diversity reception, in DPSK/OFDM systems. Simulation results show that the DF-DD with postdetection diversity reception can provide a reliable BER performance comparable to conventional DD without postdetection diversity reception.
