Abstract

In this paper, based on sliding mode control (SMC) theory, a new robust decentralized control scheme is proposed for a class of uncertain large-scale interconnected systems with matched and unmatched uncertainties. The proposed decentralized SMC law ensures the global reaching condition of the sliding mode of the uncertain composite system in the presence of matched and/or unmatched uncertainties. The so-called sliding coefficient matching condition can be extended for the decentralized SMC of the uncertain large-scale systems (LSS). Also, in the sliding mode, the investigated uncertain composite system still possesses the insensitivity to the uncertainties and disturbances and behaves like a system just with matched uncertainties. Furthermore, it shows that the proposed control law can be applied to stabilize the uncertain LSS with matched and unmatched uncertainties. Furthermore, they ensure that the system trajectories not only converge but also globally exponentially converge to the sliding mode within a specified rate. Finally, an illustrative example is included to demonstrate the validity of the proposed decentralized SMC law.
