Abstract
How the meaning of safe work changes depending on the nature of work in a particular industry has been discussed in this chapter. Interestingly in sophisticated industries like IT, it is not the nature of work but the manner in which work is conducted affects the health of its employees. Detailed data collection on the changes in health of IT employees after they joined the industry and also the types of harassment faced by them provides important results on the status of safe work in the industry. The chapter also constructs safe work index and analyses the current status of safe work in IT industry.
