Abstract

Decay processes of ground and excited bottom baryons are studied in the ${}^{3}{P}_{0}$ nonrelativistic quark model with all model parameters fixed in the sector of light quarks. Using as an input the recent mass of ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{b}$ and the theoretical masses of ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{b}^{*}$ and ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{b}^{\ensuremath{'}}$, narrow decay widths are predicted for the ground-state bottom baryons ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{b}^{*}$ and ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{b}^{\ensuremath{'}}$. The work predicts large decay widths, about $100$ MeV for the $\ensuremath{\rho}$-type orbital excitation states of ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{b}$.
