Abstract

The nuclear level structure of 131I has been investigated by studying the γ-rays emitted in the decay of 25 min 131gTe, The γ-rays were detected with Ge(Li) detectors. A total of 42 γ-rays were attributed to 131gTe, of which 21 were previously unknown. All but one γ-ray was placed in the proposed decay scheme. The half-life of the 149.8 keV level was determined to be 0.76 ± 0.05 ns. The levels are compared to those previously reported from reaction studies.
