Abstract

L 1-subshell level widths, fluorescence yields, partial Coster-Kronig transition rates and shakeoff probabilities are presented for the elements Rb to Ba. These values are based upon a comparison of high-resolution L-X-ray spectra with model predictions. This model, which accounts for multiple-hole states produced by shakeoff and Coster-Kronig processes, allows the relative intensities of satellite and diagram X-rays following L-shell ionization to be interpreted. Present results are compared with experimental, theoretical and semiempirical data available from literature.
