Abstract

Within the framework of the phenomenological model, a compact description of the parameters of a K0-meson beam with arbitrary mixed initial (boundary) conditions is obtained. Representation of a K-meson beam as a superposition of KS and KL states is only valid in the case of pure quantum states. With mixed initial conditions, it no longer makes sense to speak of independent particles KS and KL; this must be taken into account in analyzing the experimental data. A general dependence of the charge asymmetry of the decay of neutral K-mesons on the initial conditions may be obtained. Comparison with experimental data permits judgments regarding the character of the initial (boundary) conditions in the experiment.
