Abstract

The reflection spectra as well as the excitation spectra of intrinsic emissions have been measured for NaF and NaBr crystals using photons of 6 to 36 eV at 7 to 10K. The decay processes of cation excitons with the creation of anion electronic excitations have been analyzed for a number of alkali halide crystals, where the ratio for the formation energy of cation excitons and the energy gap varies by several times.
