Abstract
The decay of 72As has been investigated in a further study of the properties of the 72Ge levels. Gamma-ray singles and coincidence spectra were measured with two Ge(Li) detectors coupled to a two-parameter analyzer, and internal conversion spectra were measured with a Si(Li) detector. There were 60 transitions observed, and 55 of these were fitted into 27 excited states in 72Ge at 691.2, 834.00, 1463.96, 1728.27, 2064.82, 2402.2, 2463.80, 2514.71, 2755, 2939.90, 2943.5, 3035.74, 3094.2, 3325.0, 3337.7, 3341.8, 3419.5, 3455.28, 3550.7, 3678.1, 3708.6, 3803.7, 3816.1, 3872.0, 3983.8, 3985.8 and 3995.0 keV. Some of the properties of the low-lying levels in 72Ge may be interpreted in terms of a vibrational model.
