Abstract
An explicit exponential decay result for the velocity in steady pipe flow was established by Ames and Payne. They then extended their results to establish exponential decay to fully developed thermal flow. The analysis presented here is based on a variety of differential inequalities and relies heavily on the results of Ames and Payne.
