Abstract
The present work, a PhD thesis defended at Leiden University in 2017, presents a detailed study of some chosen syntactic subjects of the Sarikoli language. Sarikoli is a member of the Pamir group of Eastern Iranian. Being spoken south of Kashgar (on the border to Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan) in the eastern Pamir mountains in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China, Sarikoli is also geographically the easternmost of the contemporary Iranian varieties.
