Abstract

Recent technological advancements in artificial intelligence (e.g., algorithms, machine learning, predictive analytics) have brought the phenomena of digitization and digitalization back to the forefront of the current societal discourse. Given the ethical scale and scope of these phenomena, there is an urgent need to explore in how far existing frameworks of corporate (social) responsibility are sufficient to address the manifold challenges of an increasingly digital economy. By bringing together well-established scholars from business ethics, organization studies, and computer science, this panel aims at creating an interdisciplinary debate as well as charting fruitful avenues for future research.
