Abstract

Postmodernism, ending the dominance of modernism, also reduced the privilege of elites from economy to culture, from media to politics. Thanks to the development of communication channels and technologies, people whose voices could not be heard became visible, and this situation supported participatory democracy. Transforming from a passive position to an actor that shares content, human beings have found themselves in a world where, thanks to new communication technologies with virtual intelligence, they hear the voices of those who are similar to them, approve their views, but do not tolerate the other. As a result, people were polarized, language of hate and marginalization became inevitable. Truth began to lose its importance at this phase. Scientific facts are not regarded as different from the point of view of the ordinary person. Even if their reality is universally proven, everyone has begun to deny the truth the way they want. People have also begun to accept the discourses that are pleasing to them, even if these discourses are wrong, or put forward them before everyone else.
