physicians and dentists with a mission to use ham radio to discuss and exchange medical and technical informat ion. On Sunday mornings , MARCO conducts a “Grand Rounds of the Air” over the radio (at 14.308 MHz) allowing physicians to earn continuing medical education category II credits. Thomas L. Keister Jr, MD, a psychiatrist with the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans and MARCO past president, encourages physicians to join in ham radio fellowship. “Ham is something you can’t duplicate over the Internet,” Keister said. “It’s your own equipment assembled by yourself giving you the ability to communicate freely over the air. It gives you a sense of accomplishment.”
