Abstract
I'm working on a sequence of poems in which I address Audre Lorde in response to her book The Cancer Journals and also in response to my mother's Stage 4 de novo breast cancer diagnosis during the pandemic. I've always felt so self-conscious of my own body as a model for my children, and I've written about its failures in my book Nestuary. But it's also this fantastically wonderful, safe place for my children.
