Abstract

Abstract Tuning the acidity and mesoporosity are vital for a long-term ZSM-5 catalyst development. We synthesized high silica H-ZSM-5 nanocatalyst via hydrothermal technique and treated by dealumination. FE-SEM, XRD, BET, TG-DTA, FT-IR and NH 3 -TPD characterized the nanocatalysts. The parent and modified nanocatalysts include the high crystallinity (> 97%) and surface area (> 245 m 2 g −1 ). The new dealumination procedure well-adjusts the acidity and creates mesoporosity which double the catalytic lifetime (384 h). The nanocatalysts represent high methanol conversion (100%), C 2 = −C 4 = selectivity (42.90%) and propylene to ethylene ratio (11.28) in methanol to olefin (MTO) reaction. The results indicate the high potential of applied dealumination process to develop long-lived high silica MTO catalyst.
