Abstract
To increase the precious metals unit catalytic performance, herein, through dealloying different Co-rich PtPdCox alloy nanoparticle precursors (x = 4 ∼ 8), a series of electrocatalysts anchoring PtPd-rich PtPdCox nanoparticles on carbonized 1,10-phenanthroline modified carbon (denote as D-PtPdCox/PMC) are prepared. Among as-prepared samples, the electrochemical results show that the D-PtPdCo7/PMC has the feature of PtPd-rich surface with the optimal catalytic performance. Specifically, it displays a high electrocatalytic activity and good electrocatalytic durability for ethylene glycol electrooxidation, with a higher mass activity exceeding those of commercial Pt/C. Our approach suggests a feasible multi-composited catalyst with good precious-metal utilization for ethylene glycol electrooxidation applications.
