Abstract

In the process of high-speed train operation, nonlinear factors of power switches especially dead-time effect may result in low-frequency harmonic current and traction motor torque ripple, which has an adverse effect on locomotive traction performance. Firstly, this paper introduces the mechanism of dead-time effect. Secondly, this thesis analyzes the dead-time effect on performance of traction motor harmonic current and torque pulsation. Lastly, the simulation of dead-time effect is performed in this paper, the simulation results present zero-current clamping phenomenon, and research the influence factors of dead-time effect by analysing characteristics of harmonic current and torque pulsation under different dead-times, carrier frequencies and dead-zone setting modes.
