En 1927, dans son catalogue des textes ethiopiens, l’historien Heruy Walda Selāssē s’insurge contre le passeisme de ses contemporains, les invitant a se saisir des outils intellectuels modernes et occidentaux sans perdre la specificite de la longue tradition historiographique ethiopienne.
