Abstract

In this interview, Louis Roure, a psychiatrist emeritus in psychiatric hospitals, an expert emeritus, accredited by the French Court of Cassation, and criminologist, talks of his experience in clinical practice and criminology, garnered throughout his rich professional career. He explains his vision for how his subject matter of expertise might evolve and considers the causes of the fall in the number of psychiatric experts in France in recent years, plus the probable reasons their lack of enrolment on the Court of Appeal's lists. In addition to this long and significant activity as a judicial expert, he tells of his experience of sharing his expertise with the international miracle commission of Lourdes (“la commission internationale des miracles”). He also evokes the Nice terrorist attack of 2016: the very grave consequences of this mass murder and the perception that we may have of the event.
