Abstract

In a photonuclear experiment, we have measured the decay γ-ray in coincidence with a single knocked-out neutron for the first time. Using this technique, we have measured the decay γ-ray from 15O, after a 16O(γ, n) reaction with a ∼60 MeV tagged photon. This has proven that it is possible to obtain a more improved energy resolution than is currently attainable in (γ, n).
