Abstract
The Data Distribution Service (DDS) middleware is increasingly becoming a part of JDL (Joint Directors of Laboratories) based naval C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence) systems worldwide. The QoS (Quality of Service) optimization of DDS is essential for the hard real time requirements of naval C4I system and remains a challenge. The paper proposes the optimized QoS policies for the naval C4I system. It also presents the procedure to arrive at the optimized QoS policies. The simulation, with high load and large number of sensors, validates the proposed QoS policies.
