Abstract
The relevance of a formal process description model to facilitate user access to geographical information is twofold. First, it should support the design of modular applications for a user to customise derivation processes performed on a data supplier server. Second, it should structure accurate lineage metadata to enrich data description. Existing process description models aim at ambitious objectives and are therefore very complex. We propose a simplified version of UML2 activity diagram metamodel.
