Abstract

Five polymer–metal complexes of iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) were prepared from the reaction of dithiooxamide with metal salts. Elemental analysis, UV–VIS and IR investigations were carried out for the polymer complexes. The temperature variation of the DC electrical conductivity was measured in the range 298–498 K for the five polymer complexes. The proposed mechanism for the variation is based on defects: quasi-particles, solitons and polarons.
