Abstract

The author describes a technique by which two paralleled DC-to-DC converters can be made to share current equally. The problem is identified as being a volt-seconds imbalance across the interphase transformer. The imbalance is corrected by modifying the pulse width of one of the DC-to-DC converters. Average flux sensing is utilized for purposes of maintaining linear operation of the interphase transformer. The proposed approach of current balancing is shown to be effective in avoiding interphase transformer saturation. >
