Abstract

The time averaging equivalent circuit approach for a class of periodically switching linear networks previously presented by the author (1989) is applied to the modeling and analysis of a zero-current quasi-resonant (ZC-QR) buck converter. The key point of the approach is to replace the switches inside the periodically switching linear networks with controlled voltage sources and controlled current sources, upon which any standard method can be used to perform DC steady-state and AC small-signal analysis. Using the approach, the time averaging equivalent circuit model of the ZC-QR buck converter is obtained, and DC steady-state and AC small-signal analysis are performed on it. >
