Abstract

AbstractA convenient and straightforward DBU‐catalyzed selective isomerization of unsaturated alcohols for the construction of ketone scaffolds through a sequential deprotonation, hydrogen transfer and protonation process has been described. Control experiments demonstrate that the isomerization of propargyl alcohol can not be attributed to the Meyer‐Schuster rearrangement mechanism. In addition, substrates containing both allylic alcohol and propargyl alcohol structures can be selectively isomerized to afford the dibenzylideneacetones using this method.
