Abstract
현존하는 데이터베이스 관리 도구들은 방대한 기능을 포함하고 있고 도구들이 지원하는 데이터베이스 관리 시스템에 대한 전문적인 지식과 경험을 갖추어야 효과적인 기능들을 적절히 사용할 수 있기 때문에, 초급 DBA의 경우 데이터베이스 도구들의 활용이 어려운 경향이 있다. 이러한 이유로 초급 DBA들을 위한 공간 관리와 I/O 튜닝을 위한 dbsViewer를 구현하였다. dbsViewer는 데이터베이스 공간과 I/O 사용 정보를 시각화하여 표현하고 이를 통하여 빠르고 편리하게 정보를 인지할 수 있도록 하였으며, 지속적으로 확장되는 데이터베이스 공간 가용량에 대한 전략구성을 가능케 할 뿐만 아니라 쉽고 효과적으로 I/O 튜닝을 할 수 있도록 다량의 I/O가 발생되는 객체들의 정보를 제공한다. dbaViewer가 제공하는 공간 관리와 I/O 튜닝 정보들의 효율성은 관련된 실험을 통하여 확인 할 수 있다.
