Abstract

This paper deals with electrical modeling of glow dielectric barrier discharge taking into account the waveform slope as the main parameter. Two equivalent electrical models of dielectric barrier discharge are commented. An equivalent electric model is proposed for this kind of discharge fitted using short-pulsed excitation. This model can be used as an useful tool to design electronics power systems that use pulsed voltage to supply DBDs and due that the proposed model is not a function of the waveform frequency, the electronics ballast design is independent of the used frequency. Experimental results measured are presented to validate the proposed model.
