Abstract

This study examines how daytime sleepiness and negative emotions relate in middle-aged adults who nap during the day. Surprisingly, we found a slight negative link between daytime sleepiness and feeling down, suggesting daytime naps might help regulate emotions. However, more research is needed to fully grasp this connection. Our findings highlight the complexity of mood regulation and stress the importance of looking at the bigger picture when it comes to emotional well-being. We suggest future studies use longer-term observations and broader assessments to uncover the full story. Ultimately, understanding these links could lead to targeted strategies for improving sleep quality and emotional health in our modern lives.
