Abstract

Observations and analyses of cosmic-ray intensity diurnal variation were presented for periods of minimum solar activity to eliminate the disturbing and complicating effects of intense solar activity. A high counting rate neutron monitor was used. The neutron monitor data for Aug. 1962 were presented. The direction of maximum intensity was found to persist stably at an angle 90 deg or more to the east of the earth-sun line for times of the order of half a solar rotation period. The average direction of maximum and the corresponding average amplitude were calculated for 13 1/2 day periods from May 1 to Dec. 31, 1982. (C.E.S.)
