Abstract

When the demand for child-care facilities was rather suddenly increased in one large city, a day-care unit was set up in the health department to inspect and license nurseries and to provide health supervision for the children. The author is 'health consultant of the Day-Care Unit, New York City Department of Health, a graduate of Lebanon, Bronx, New York, and formerly with the Henry Street Visiting Nurse Service.
