Abstract
TECH WATCH - Competing for the first time, the Dutch racing team Alpha Centauri pulled off an impressive hat trick as it won the sixth World Solar Challenge, in which, every two years, solar-powered cars race a grueling 3000 km from the north to the south of Australia. Crossing the finish line on 21 November, the sleek, three-wheeled Netherlands racer, called Nuna, set new records for time and speed, and also for distance traveled in one day.
