Abstract

Advancing quality and improving patient outcomes is critically intertwined with information exchange technology but hinges on the willingness of healthcare providers and health systems to openly share clinical, patient-level data in a supportive, collegial environment. The primary aim for detailing this journey to establish a data sharing health systems collaborative is to illustrate our strides within the complexities of information processing in developing a culture of data transparency within a large and diverse geographical region. The processes within this “big data” warehouse are provided in detail to allow for replication in varied arenas to facilitate diverse goals for information exchange.
