Abstract
Software to preview long term plantar pressure data files collected during activities of daily living has been developed. Data is collected with a Holter type, microprocessor based data acquisition system from insoles instrumented with Force Sensing Resistors (FSR/sup TM/, Interlink Electronics, Camarillo, CA). Plantar pressures are recorded from seven locations per foot. The system is capable of recording up to sixteen hours of data in files as large as 16 megabytes in length. Prior to performing statistical processing, the data from such large files should be reviewed and segmented. This interactive software allows an investigator to quickly preview and segment specific time frames of the data using a personal computer. An evaluation of the program was completed using data collected from several day long trials with two adult male subjects. Results show that the program provides the clinical investigator a graphical means to rapidly preview and segment large plantar pressure data files.
