Abstract

Knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) and data mining became very important in data processing and analysing. The combination of powerful KDD and data mining techniques and sophisticated resources of object-oriented database systems brings even more considerable results. But these emerging tools and techniques require a powerful data mining query language which would serve as an interface between applications and data mining tools. This motivates us to propose general conditions and instruments for extending object-oriented query language (OOQL) with the ability of data mining. These instruments will be introduced in two examples of an object-oriented data mining query language, ODAMIL, an extension of Object Comprehensions language, and DMOQL, an extension of OQL language proposed by the ODMG.
