Abstract

Data integration (DI) means the method of putting together the wanted data from multiple source into single, and provide the user with a united vision of those data. This document presents on why data integration is used and what is an ETL and how these two are used in business intelligence. Special attention will be devoted to the following aspects: application of data integration, where it has been used, how data integration helps in business success, challenges in data integration, what are the different technologies and what are the ETL tools.
