Abstract

In 2010, Chen et al. [2] proposed a data hiding scheme with high payload and good visual quality. The edge information is detected and most of the secret bits are embedded into the edge area. An index pixel is chosen to record the edge information for each block. However, the embedding space will decrease because of the index pixel. Thus, we proposed a data hiding that enhances the visual quality based on the same payload. Exploiting Kang and Wang’s edge detection [3] on 4MSB (most significant bit) planes extracted from original image to determine edge area. Then, the secret message is then embedded into the LSB (least significant bit) planes of the cover image. According to the experimental results, our scheme can increase the image quality and preserve high embedding capacity.
