Abstract

Skin model shape, which is not nominal model, is recently interested in the fields of mechanical design and precious measurement. We have proposed a generation method of the skin model shapes based on wavelet transformation. The method can generate skin model shapes randomly using measured values obtained from an actual surface with keeping surface characteristics. In the proposed method, there were several problems to be solved, one of them being a selection problem of a mother wavelet. In this paper, the optimal mother wavelet is selected by comparing several representative mother wavelets. Furthermore, tolerance analysis are conducted to analyze influences of the surface characteristics on simulation results.
