Abstract

As the proportion of the software in an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) has increased, HiL (Hardware in the Loop) test is performed for verification. However, an extra monitoring technique is needed to provide the debugging information for developers due to the characteristics of the test environment. Thus, this paper suggests a novel method named data cascading algorithm to transfer the large monitoring data generated from the ECU. In this algorithm, the data is divided into segments, considering the communication condition and the operation cycle of the system’s main task. Then the segments are transmitted by reiterating the test with the number of segments. As an experimental result, we proved that the massive monitoring data generated from ECU was collected by overcoming the low bandwidth of CAN and the transmitted data was completely the same of the original data without loss.
