Abstract
Due to dynamic business environments and volatile customer requirements, manufacturing companies are increasingly relying on agile development methods to implement changes to their products more quickly. The drive towards speed, however, is in conflict with the thorough analysis of engineering change impacts on more and more complex manufacturing systems. In this context, efficient change management that enables rapid processing of changes while maintaining consistently high product quality is key for competitiveness. This paper examines existing literature and presents a concept for the data-based improvement of engineering change impact analyses in manufacturing.
