Abstract

Maintaining a curriculum that produces industry-ready graduates in the dynamic and growing field of Information Communication Technology (ICT) requires rigorous and regular reassessment. In this paper, we present a data-driven approach for curriculum augmentation that leverages on the wealth of information already provided by industry, through the projects they propose to our students. We showcase an industry-focused approach to collect data for improving the curriculums of the ICT specializations of software engineering and information security. We use Singapore Institute of Technology's (SIT) Integrative Team Project (ITP) module to gather data on the industry's latest technology and current problems. This data is parsed and processed to evidence curriculum changes based on actual workplace needs from Singapore's ICT companies. The aim for this paper is to provide a case-study for curriculum alteration that aids in the inculcation of industry-ready graduates.
