Abstract

At the Belle II upgrade at the SuperKEKB collider, we expect about 20 kHz level-1 trigger rate at the design luminosity of 8 × 1035 cm−2s−1 which is 40 times higher than the world record given by KEKB. The Belle II data acquisition system is designed to read out the data from the entire detector at up to 30 kHz, with minimum amount of deadtime of several percent that is unavoidable due to the front-end buffer structure. The system consists of subsystems for trigger and timing distribution, data links, event building and high level triggering. We present the system which is designed to be ready for the start of Belle II in 2014.
