Abstract

The occurrence of Amphora calumetica (B.W. Thomas ex Wolle) Perag. in Europe. A. calumetica is considered to be a rare taxon which has never been reported from the central part of Europe until recently. In this paper findings from three lacalities in Germany are described. The findings support the suggestions of Edlund & Stoermer (1999) that A. calumetica is an epipsammic diatom and that it is more common than previously thought.
