Abstract
The dimeric complexes [R2PSOM(CO)3]2 1-4 (R = C2H5, C6H5; M = Mn, Re) are nearly exclusively formed by reaction of the monothiophosphinic acids R2PSOH with the bromopentacarbonylmanganese and -rhenium compounds BrM(CO)5 according to Eqn. (1). The monosubstitution products 5 and 6 are obtained from 3 and 4 with P(C6H5)3 in benzene according to Eqn. (2). The disubstituted complexes (C6H5)2PSORe(CO)3[P(C6H5)3]2 (7) and (C6H5)2PSORe(CO)2[P(C6H5)3]2 (8) are mainly formed by reaction of 4 with excess P(C6H5)3 in toluene according to Eqn. (3). The newly prepared compounds are discussed on the basis of their IR and mass spectra.
