Abstract
The introduction of the German DRG remuneration system in 2004 has resulted in many changes. The increased cost pressure is forcing many hospitals to improve their cost-effectiveness even more. An analysis of costs and earnings to assess the economic situation of different areas and improve revenues is indispensable. This review offers an economic assessment of the in-hospital treatment of OHSS patients in the gynecological clinic of the University Hospital Erlangen. It could be demonstrated that a suitably adapted treatment regime combined with optimized coding procedures can lead to a positive earnings situation.
