Abstract

Report on a new method of measuring of the mobility of the sacroiliac joints by roentgenstereophotogrammetry. Using this method the three-dimensional movements in the sacroiliac joints were quantified and an objective confirmation of manual diagnosis of clinical hypo- and hypermobility is possible. The method can be used as after treatment control. The findings of the history and the examination are discussed. Within a clinical study on 66 patients with a sacroiliac joint lesion it is shown the best result to be a combined treatment with manipulation, stabilisation and physiotherapeutical home-exercises for the rehabilitation of these patients.
