Abstract

The author proposes to reconsider a notion used in Aristotelian rhetorics: the notion of ethos, »figure«, »character«. The idea is that every text implies a corporal image of the speaker or »garantee«. This corporal image is constructed simultaneously with the enonciation of the text. This corporal image is based on contemporaneous assumptions and stereotypes. Thus, every text contains an incorporation of the subject who takes the responsability of the text.
