Abstract

Abstract By reaction of As 2 Co 2 (CO) 6 with M(CO) 5 THF (M = Cr, Mo, W), the heteronuclear complexes (CO) 5 M · As 2 Co 2 (CO) 6 of low stability were obtained. Phosphine substitution increased the basicity of the As 2 Co 2 cluster, into which up to two PMe 3 ligands and up to four P(OMe) 3 ligands could be introduced. Subsequently, two M(CO) 5 units (M = Cr, Mo, or W) could be attached to As 2 Co 2 (CO) 5 · PMe 3 , As 2 Co 2 (CO) 4 L 2 (L = PMe 3 , P(OMe) 3 ), and As 2 Co 2 (CO) 3 [P(OMe) 3 ] 3 . The crystal structure of [(CO) 5 W] 2 As 2 Co 2 (CO) 4 [P(OMe) 3 ] 2 was determined.
